October 16 Dictionary Day

October 16 Dictionary Day

Today day is October 16 Dictionary Day observed yearly. Dictionary Day is held in honor of Noah Webster. Webster began to write his dictionary at the age of 43. It took him 27 years to finish it.

In 1806, American Noah Webster published his first Compendious Dictionary of the English. Webster learned twenty-six languages, including Old English (Anglo-Saxon), German, Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Arabic and Sanskrit.
Dictionary Day would exist to encourage us to challenge our vocabulary, to broaden it and perhaps take an opportunity to expand our language to the full scope of the tongue’s diversity.
Celebrate by learning a new word, give new dictionary to those who try to learn and developed them self. Especially poor kids who does not afford this dictionary.

October 16 Liqueur Day

October 16 Liqueur Day

Today day is October 16 Liqueur Day observed annually. The word “liqueur” comes from the Latin word “liquifacere,” which means “to dissolve or melt.” As early as 400 BC, the Egyptians and Greeks distilled wine to produce fortified spirits.
In the U.S. and Canada, where distilled spirits are often called “liquor”, liqueurs are frequently confused with liquors, especially flavored ones such as flavored vodka. The main difference is that liqueurs contain sugar or other sweetener while liquors are not sweetened. Liqueurs are typically sweet and may resemble syrup in consistency. They also may or may not have a lower alcohol content.
As per our search, in the thirteenth century, liqueurs descend from herbal medicines prepared by monks in. A liqueur is an alcoholic drink made from extracted spirit flavored with fruit, cream, herbs, spices, flowers or nuts and bottled with extra sugar or other backhanders.
To celebrate the Liqueur Day, for this day we didn’t say enjoy this day “Liquer is not good for health”. So stay away or use your Wisdom and take it.
