In a bowl, combine 1 egg and 1/2 cup milk. Stir in 12 ounces whole kernel corn and 1 tbs oil. In another bowl, combine 1 cup sifted flour, 1 tbs sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt. Add flour mixture to egg mixture and stir until combine.

In a saucepan, heat oil to 375 °F. Drop mixture from table spoon into oil and fry until cooked through and golden. Drain in paper towels. Pour warm maple syrup on fritters before serving and enjoy your meal!
