November 20 Peanut Butter Fudge Day

November 20 Peanut Butter Fudge Day

Today day is November 20 Peanut Butter Fudge Day people across the United States celebrated every year. Fudge originated in the United States, possibly by a happy accident.
The origin of fudge can be traced back to the 1800s when people used the word "fudge" to mean "cheat" or "mess up." One day, a chef accidentally "fudged" a batch of caramel he was trying to make, inventing the delicious confection.

In 1886 a letter was found, written by Emelyn Bettersby Hartridge, a student at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, referring to fudge that her cousin had made.
In the late 19th century, some shops on Mackinac Island, Michigan, began to produce similar products as the Vassar College fudge and sold it to summer vacationers. Fudge is still made in some of the original shops there today.
