World Red Cross Day and World Red Crescent Day is celebrated on 8th May of every year. This date is the anniversary of the birth of Henry Dunant, the recipient of the first Nobel Peace Prize, who was born on this day on 8 May 1828.

May 8: World Red Cross Day is dedicated to improving human suffering, upholding human dignity, protecting life, and preventing emergencies and natural disasters such as flood, epidemics, and earthquakes.
People are encouraged to donate blood to save the lives of people in need of blood. School, colleges and other place people open blood donate camp and people come and give blood to save much life who need blood in the hospital. The day is dedicated to paying tribute to the volunteers for their fantastic contribution to the people in need.
