October 23 Boston cream pie Day

October 23 Boston cream pie Day

Today day is October 23 Boston Cream Pie Day observed every year. It is dedicated to a delicious dessert which is more a cake than a pie, despite its name. Boston cream pie was invented by Armenian-French chef Sanzian at Boston's Parker House Hotel.
In 1856, at Boston’s Parker House Hotel, Armenian-French chef M. Sanzian created this pudding and cake combination which comprises two layers of sponge cake filled with vanilla flavored custard or crème patisserie. The cake is then topped with a chocolate glaze, such as a ganache or sometimes powdered sugar and a cherry.
In 1996, Massachusetts declared the Boston cream pie as their official dessert.
To celebrate the Boston cream pie, indulge yourself with family and friends a slice of cake, doughnut, or cupcake.
