October 21 Reptile Awareness Day

Today day is October 21 Reptile Awareness Day people across the world celebrate this day. This Day also promotes education, conservation, and appreciation for reptiles.

A reptile is any amniote that is neither a mammal nor a bird, is cold-blooded, has scales or scutes and can lay eggs on land. There are 6,500-10,000 species of reptiles, which live on every continent except Antarctica. They include turtles, terrapins, and tortoises; lizards, snakes, and legless worm lizards; the tuatara of New Zealand; and crocodiles, alligators, gavials, and caimans.
We need days like this to promote reptiles and make sure that these wonderful animals are around for future generations to enjoy. Visit the zoo to see some reptiles or do some research on internet.
