September 9 Teddy Bear Day

Today day is September 9 Teddy Bear Day celebrate every year. Almost everyone has teddy in their childhood, nice, soft, warm kind of teddy. The teddy bear is one of the most popular toys for children.

The Berryman cartoon of Teddy Roosevelt and the cub inspired New York store owner Morris Michtom to create a new toy. Morris Michtom wrote President Roosevelt to ask permission to name the new toy a “Teddy Bear”.
Clifford Berryman published a cartoon of the event in the Washington Post on November 16th, 1902. The caricature became an instant classic.
The American toy bears were named Teddy, in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt, who had refused to shoot a small captured bear on a hunting trip.
