September 13 Peanut Day

September 13 Peanut Day

Today day is September 13 Peanut Day observed annually. Peanuts are legumes—simple dry fruits in the same family as peas and beans.
Peanuts are high in necessary nutrients such as vitamin E, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, B6, iron, selenium, zinc and many others, but when paired with other nutrient-rich food and also high in antioxidants.

George Washington Carver discovered over 300 practical uses for peanuts.
Peanuts have many uses. They can be eaten raw, used in recipes, made into solvents and oils, medicines, textile materials, and peanut butter, as well as many other uses. Celebrate Peanut Day, bake peanut butter cookies, enjoy a nice chunk of peanut butter fudge, or make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch.
