March 19 Chocolate Caramel Day

March 19 is Chocolate Caramel Day, it is better way to celebrate Chocolate Caramel Day than with a favorite chocolate bar.

This definitely puts a smile on most people’s faces, specially woman, girls and children. It can also immediately invoke some cravings for chocolate caramel candy, cake, ice cream, coffee or just about any treat with this hard-to-resist combination.

While Milton Hershey receives a lot of credit for making chocolate caramel popular (he did make his living making caramel first) recipes for chocolate caramels were around as early as the 1880s. This was about the same time the first mass produced chocolate bar became available.

Time 1893 the World’s Colombian Exposition held in Chicago. Hershey was fascinated by an exhibit featuring machinery for the production of German chocolate. So fascinated in fact, he purchased the equipment and was soon producing chocolate bars, very first his product was chocolate-covered caramel candy.
