Hugging has been proven to have health benefits. One study has shown that hugs increase levels of oxytocin, and reduce blood pressure. Hugging is not particular to human beings, as there are many species of animals that engage in similar exchanges of warmth.
In recent years it has become a practice amongst some teenage girls to greet and farewell each other with a hug. In May 2009, the New York Times reported that "the hug has become the favourite social greeting when teenagers meet or part these days" in the United States. A number of schools in the United States have issued bans on hugs, which in some cases have resulted in student-led protests against these bans. (With material from Wikipedia)

January 11 Step in the Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day

January 11 Step in the Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day 01

Today day is Step in the Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day observed every year, any kid knows that splashing and jumping into puddles is fun.

A puddle is a small accumulation of liquid, usually water, on a surface. It can form either by pooling in a depression on the surface or by surface tension upon a flat surface. Puddles are usually formed from rain water or from irrigation. A puddle is generally small enough for an adult to step over, shallow enough to walk through, and too small to traverse in a boat or raft.
Puddles commonly form during rain and can cause problems for transport. Due to the angle of the road, puddles tend to be forced by gravity to gather on the edges of the road. This can cause splashing as cars drive through the puddles, which causes water to be sprayed onto pedestrians on the pavement. (With material from Wikipedia)
